New Browsers

The Wizard is back, this time with some interesting news. About a week ago, I found out that when hackers hack, they write the code for the virus based off of whatever browser you use.
The followup to this is that if you use a lesser - used browser like google chrome then you are safer from the hoards of faceless hackers pounding at the walls of your personal space.

The whole point of this meandering pile of words is that I am now using Opera. What is this Opera, you ask? Look at the link, dumass.
But then, as I trawled through gigabytes of data at great personal risk, I found another cool obscure browser.
This one was called iRider
I apologise for the link, but Wikipedia has almost no information on this browser.

Aparantly, this was created back in the days before chrome and firefox got all innovative-y on us and "revolutionized" web browsing.
It did a lot of the stuff chrome does 10 years before chrome was even invented.
Cool beans, I say.

Back Again For No Reason

The Wizard here, back again for no reason as the title says. No interesting links, pictures, or videos. Rather boring, but I needed to write something.

It seems that with the invention of the touchscreen, the computer industry should have been revolutionized. But now, as we move into 2011, the company that makes most of the touchscreen devices in production is Apple. Now, I am almost an Apple fanboy, so I'm not ragging on them. But all this other stuff like the Android seems less on par with the iOS devices.
I know, I know, all the people who own an Android and love it dissagree with me. But iOS has a much cleaner and simple OS, much better for a touchscreen device.

Android & Co. have made the mistake of applying the Windows philosphy to a touchscreen device. In other words, MENUS!!! Everything with a menu, and everything in it's place. That just does not work. GET IT TOGETHER

iDrone: It's Here.

The thing the whole world has been waiting for: the iDrone. The cutting edge of technology, so sharp it could chop your head off, then change your facebook status to "dead." Resistance is futile, would you argue with that?

Battlestar Galactica Online

Hello all you out there on the internet, this is The Wizard again. Not that there would be anyone else here, but I just like saying that.

Recently, the developers over at Bigpoint Games have seen fit to release BSGO (Battlestar Galactica Online) into open beta, free for all to use.
The game (which I have been using for about 2 days) has amazing 3D graphics. They blew my mind the first time I played.
What? do you want to see? Here it is:

Now, there are compromises for having graphics like this. It takes literally almost an hour to load for the first time, but after some data is stored in your cache it loads fairly quickly.
But if you even just have medium speed DSL, kiss gameplay goodbye. Your ship becomes as unresponsive and jerky as a pro wrestler with a hangover.
All in all, a good representation of the BSG universe. 3.75 stars out of 5.

SBY update

For any of my more devoted SBY fans, I have found a good preview for the new SBY movie. Here it is. Enjoy!
[N.B: This is akll in japanese. I think that is one of the reasons it has not been marketed in the U.S. I hope that I could get it with subtitles or something.

Space Battleship Yamato

I have now been informed of an epic T.V series Called "Space Battleship Yamato." Not only because it is a pretty cool show, but also because the ship looks so cool.
The idea is that an alien capsule fell to Earth with the secret to Faster than Light travel in it. The Earth is under attack by a species not unlike the Borg, and humanity needs a way out.

[I don't own any of these pictures, they belong their respective owners, ect.]
The oceans have dried up, so the Japanese government builds a starship with the infrastructure of the sunken battleship Yamato from WWII.

When you're finished here, check out the rest of my blog! Life, the universe and everything else
